In 2002 Ungar and Gefsky formed Antheus Capital, named after the mythic son of Poseidon, who was invincible as long as his feet were touching the ground. In light of the stratospheric valuations being commanded by internet stocks at the time, David and Eli felt Antheus′ source of strength complemented the “down to earth” nature of their business. From 2002 through 2004 Antheus acquired, in eight separate transactions, apartment properties in Chicago, Tampa and Dallas. In 2005 we joined with our friend and co-investor Jeff Keswin of Lyrical Partners, to raise our first fund, Lyrical-Antheus Realty Partners, LP (LARP I). We recently closed our fourth fund, Lyrical-Antheus Realty Partners IV, LP (LARP IV), our largest to date.
